Extended lead times on HP hardware

As you are no doubt aware, we now find ourselves in a very challenging period for anyone invoived in the manufacture and/or supply of IT products.

Due to the impact of ongoing global component shortages, HP recently advised us that we could experience a 16~20 week lead time on any new factory orders. Even so, this extended lead time is still not a guarantee of product delivery as should any required components remain unavailable throughout this period then the item of hardware simply cannot be manufactured.

Here at Mariner Systems we have, in the past, always adopted a mantra of "under- promise and over-deliver". However, the current situation is making it increasingly difficult to meet this aim and we are spending an increasing amount of office time trying to manage customers' expectations.

It is important to acknowledge that this is not a problem that is unique to HP but is affecting pretty much every manufacturer of electronic equipment across every business sector.

Some positive news is that we can confirm that (so far) the manufacture of our in-house Mariner Kits is largely unaffected and therefore turnaround times for Kit only orders remain as you would expect.

In the meantime, we would ask for your patience and understanding during this period and please rest asssured that we are doing everything we can to ensure that the extended lead times are kept to a minimum as far as we can.
